Linebacker Lifka commits to BC

Linebacker/fullback Nick Lifka of Naperville North (Naperville, Ill.) has accepted an offer from Boston College and will be part of their recruiting Class of 2011.

Lifka (6-foot-2, 235-pounds) also received offers from LSU (fullback), Minnesota, Indiana, Duke, Iowa State, Mississippi State and Vanderbilt. Among others were Ball State, Buffalo and Western Michigan.

Lifka's two uncles, Matt and Greg Dingens, both suited up for Notre Dame.

As a junior, he registered 116 tackles, 15 tackles for loss, one forced fumble, three fumble recoveries, three blocked kicks and four pass breakups. Lifka also rushed for 273 yards and three scores.
