New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady has played the last several games with three broken ribs, CBS Sports reported Sunday.

A source also told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter that Brady also has a broken right ring finger that was giving him more problems than his three cracked ribs on Sunday.

Brady was asked on Monday morning during an interview on Boston sports radio station WEEI if he could confirm the injuries. While kicking off his answer with a joke ("What's the injury report say?"), he did address the issue. "I'm feeling really good," Brady said. "Everyone breaks bones over the course of the year. I'm feeling pretty good. It's the best I've felt in a while."

The Patriots had added the rib problem to the injury report for Brady the week after he took a big hit against the Dolphins in Week 13 and briefly left the field to go to the locker room. He didn't miss any plays in the game.

Despite the report, a Patriots spokesman said he was not aware of Brady having broken ribs, according to The Associated Press.

Brady started Sunday in the regular-season finale at Houston, leaving for backup Brian Hoyer in the second quarter before coming back to start the second half. He played most of the second half, save for the final drive of the game.

Brady, who this week was selected to his fifth Pro Bowl, returned this season after tearing two knee ligaments in last season's opener.

He has passed for 4,398 yards with 28 touchdowns and 13 interceptions while starting all 16 games.
