DETROIT -- Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, who was questionable on the injury report with right shoulder and foot injuries, started Thursday's game against the Lions.

His status never seemed to be in doubt.

Had the Patriots felt Brady's availability was truly in question, they likely would have made a roster move because they only have one other quarterback on the active roster, Brian Hoyer.

Also active Thursday for the Patriots is running back Fred Taylor, who hasn't played in a game since he suffered a turf-toe injury Sept. 26.

Mike Reiss covers the Patriots for ESPNBoston.com.
