WILMINGTON, Mass. -- Boston Bruins forwards David Krejci and Jordan Caron did not practice Saturday because of the flu and might miss Sunday's game against the Thrashers.

Bruins coach Claude Julien said neither player will travel Saturday afternoon to Atlanta, but Krejci and Caron could join the club there Sunday.

"They're obviously not very good because they're not here," Julien said. "Both won't be on the plane, either. Whether they join us tomorrow, who knows?"

The Bruins recalled forward Jason Arniel from AHL Providence on an emergency basis, and he will join the team on the trip to Atlanta.

This is Arniel's second recall to Boston. He was brought up Nov. 9 and was a healthy scratch against the Pittsburgh Penguins. The 21-year-old forward has played in 19 games for Providence this season and has registered 9 goals and 7 assists for 16 points.

Even though Marc Savard was skating with the fourth line during practice Saturday, there's no way he'll be inserted into the lineup to replace Krejci. Savard admitted he would like to be in the lineup, but it's still too soon.

Marco Sturm (knee) also missed the skate Saturday due to the flu.
