BOSTON -- The Boston Bruins received a bit of an emotional boost Tuesday night when Marc Savard returned to the TD Garden in time for Game 2 of the Eastern Conference finals against the Tampa Bay Lightning, which the Bruins won, 6-5.

Savard suffered a season-ending concussion in January and returned home to Ontario.

"He's part of our hockey club and he's always welcomed here," said Bruins coach Claude Julien. "He wants to come down and he's trying to get over a concussion that's really set him back. We've given him that space and being around family is a good thing to help yourself through that. We'll be happy to see him."

The series is tied 1-1.
