Richmond snaps Illinois' drought

Waukegan senior Jereme Richmond, an Illinois recruit, was named to the McDonald's All-American team on Thursday.

Richmond is Illinois' first McDonald's All-American since Proviso East's Dee Brown played in it in 2002.

"That's great for Jereme," Illinois coach Bruce Weber said. "I know that's a focus. For me as a coach, it doesnt make or break you. You got to earn it on the court. I know for a kid its a great honor. Its good for our program."
