Eagles do Bears big favor

Good fortune embraced the Chicago Bears once again with the Philadelphia Eagles basically gift-wrapping the No. 2 seed for the NFC playoffs Tuesday with a 24-14 loss to the Minnesota Vikings.

So despite one game remaining, against NFC North foe Green Bay on Sunday, the Bears can't do any worse than the No. 2 seed, meaning they will receive a bye through the wild-card round of the playoffs.
