Bears resting before bye week

LAKE FOREST, Ill. -- Several veteran players were given the day off as the Chicago Bears practiced one final time Thursday before embarking on a three-day weekend.

Center Olin Kreutz, guard Roberto Garza, linebacker Nick Roach (shoulder), safety Major Wright (lower leg), receiver Earl Bennett (ankle), safety Chris Harris and tight end Brandon Manumaleuna appeared to be sitting out the abbreviated workout.
