Rashard Mendenhall wanted Bears

ARLINGTON, Texas. -- It's fair to say Chicago's strongest individual link to Super Bowl XLV is the Pittsburgh Steelers' Rashard Mendenhall.

Mendenhall, who was born in Skokie, Ill., graduated from Niles West high school and arrived in the NFL via the University of Illinois, is expected to be a central figure when the Steelers battle the Green Bay Packers on Sunday at Cowboys Stadium.

Perhaps the only thing that might have made Super Bowl week more enjoyable for the running back ...
