Cully Payne transfers to Loyola

CHICAGO -- Former Iowa point guard Cully Payne has transferred to Loyola, the school announced on Friday.

Payne, who starred at Schaumburg High School, played only five games this past season as a sophomore for the Hawkeyes before suffering a season-ending hernia injury. Last season will count as a medical redshirt season for Payne, according to a Loyola spokesperson. He will have to sit out next season and will have three years of eligiblity remaining for the Ramblers.
