Northwestern hires Fred Hill

EVANSTON, Ill. -- Former Rutgers coach Fred Hill was officially named as an assistant on Northwestern's staff on Tuesday.

Hill replaced Mitch Henderson, who left the Wildcats to become head coach at Princeton.

"Fred's coaching experience at a number of successful programs, coupled with his reputation as a top notch recruiter, should pay immediate dividends," Northwestern coach Bill Carmody said in a statement. "I am thrilled he will be joining our staff."
