Hawks name Marc Bergevin asst. GM

The Chicago Blackhawks promoted three members of its front office staff and extended the contract of senior adviser Scotty Bowman, the team announced Wednesday.

Marc Bergevin takes over as assistant general manager, replacing Kevin Cheveldayoff, who recently took over as general manager of the Winnipeg franchise. Bergevin is a former Hawks player, assistant coach and most recently was the director of player personnel.
