John Danks on DL for first time in career

CHICAGO -- The Chicago White Sox put left-hander John Danks on the disabled list Sunday with a strained right oblique.

Danks injured himself in the second inning of Saturday's game against the Washington Nationals.

The White Sox purchased the contract of left-hander Hector Santiago, 23, to replace Danks on the roster. Santiago, a 30th-round pick in 2006, started the season at Single-A before he was promoted to Double-A Birmingham. He is a combined 6-5 with a 4.08 ERA in his ...
