Major League Baseball has fined Chicago Cubs pitcher Ted Lilly $1,500 for confronting home plate umpire Bob Davidson on Monday.

Lilly wasn't pitching Monday against the Pittsburgh Pirates, but he argued a strike call from the dugout during the fifth inning at Wrigley Field. After the inning, Lilly was ejected and went on the field to confront Davidson.

The Cubs may be fortunate Lilly wasn't suspended. Cubs ace Carlos Zambrano was suspended six games for his altercation with umpire Mark Carlson on Wednesday.
