The Chicago White Sox have signed Mark Kotsay to a one-year, $1.5 million deal.

Kotsay, 33, hit .278 with four home runs and 23 RBIs in 67 games combined with the White Sox and Boston Red Sox. He was traded from Boston on July 28 for outfielder Brian Anderson.

Kotsay could have been a free agent when the period begins in 15 days.
