CHICAGO -- White Sox pitcher Mark Buehrle won his first Gold Glove award, it was announced Tuesday.

Buehrle led American League pitchers with eight pickoffs. He had 41 assists and tied for the lead by assisting with five double plays, while committing just one error.

He's only the second White Sox pitcher to win the award, joining Jim Kaat, who won in 1974-75. Buehrle is the first Sox player to win a Gold Glove since Robin Ventura did five times between 1991-98.
