SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- Former Chicago White Sox reliever D.J. Carrasco has signed a one-year deal with the Pittsburgh Pirates, according to a source.

People with knowledge of the signing said that the right-hander will make $950,000 next year, with incentives that can take it up to $1.2 million.

Carrasco pitched for the White Sox in long relief in 2009, posting a 5-1 record and 3.76 ERA. The White Sox did not offer him a contract in 2010.
