CHICAGO -- Chicago Cubs pitcher Ted Lilly is scheduled to pitch in his first major league game of 2010 Saturday night at Miller Park against the Milwaukee Brewers, said manager Lou Piniella on Sunday.
Lilly must first pass a test on Monday evening in Peoria, where he's set to throw between 70-80 pitches in a rehab start for the Single-A Peoria Chiefs.
Lilly said that he'll drive to Peoria either Sunday night, or Monday morning, in preparation for his minor league start. Piniella also said that Lilly will not join the team until Friday in Milwaukee. After pitching in Peoria the Cubs plan for Lilly to return to Wrigley Field to continue his preparation in Chicago.
Lilly has been rehabbing from shoulder surgery since November 2009. He went 12-9 for Chicago last season with a 3.10 ERA.
