Chicago Cubs pitcher Ted Lilly had impressive numbers at his rehab start for Single-A Peoria, and it would appear he's on schedule to make his season debut with the big league team on Saturday in Milwaukee.
Lilly threw 63 of 88 pitches for strikes in seven innings of work. He yielded just three hits and one run while striking out nine and walking just one. He retired the final 10 batters he faced.
Lilly also had a single and a walk and was caught stealing.
After undergoing offseason shoulder surgery, Lilly also suffered back problems in his recovery.
