Taking his first at-bats since going on the disabled list, Cubs third baseman Aramis Ramirez went 0-for-3 with a walk in his first rehab game for the Class A Peoria Chiefs on Saturday.
"I don't care if I go 0-for-4 or 0-for-3 with a couple of strikeouts," Ramirez told the Quad-City Times. "It's all about feeling positive and healthy when I'm done. It's about knowing that I am ready to swing the bat again."
Ramirez, who went on the DL with a sore left thumb, told ESPNChicago.com on Friday that his stint in Peoria was going to last two days. He is eligible to come off the DL on Wednesday.
Ramirez is suffering through the worst season of his career, hitting .168 with five home runs and 22 RBIs in 179 at-bats.
