CHICAGO -- Cubs manager Lou Piniella has apparently patched things up with longtime Chicago baseball analyst Steve Stone.
Piniella said he talked to Stone and added in jest, "I closed the door and threw a few jabs." He said "everything's fine" between them.
Piniella spoke Friday before the Cubs opened a weekend series against the White Sox at U.S. Cellular Field.
When the White Sox visited Wrigley Field two weeks ago, Piniella criticized Stone for questioning his handling of rookie outfielder Tyler Colvin, saying he's tired of being "nitpicked" and is "not a damn dummy."
Piniella also wondered about the credentials of Stone, the 1980 AL Cy Young Award winner who is in his third season as a White Sox broadcaster. Stone also spent two decades in the Cubs' booth.
