ST. LOUIS -- Chicago Cubs right fielder Tyler Colvin left Monday's 5-1 win in the bottom of the fourth inning with a left elbow contusion.

Colvin was hit on the elbow in the third inning by a pitch from St. Louis Cardinals starter Jaime Garcia.

According to Colvin, the injury occurred right at the spot where he had Tommy John ligament replacement surgery after the 2008 season. He said that he wouldn't need any X-rays.

Kosuke Fukudome replaced Colvin in right field.

Shortstop Starlin Castro is day-to-day with a deep bruise of the left hip. Castro was originally in Monday night's lineup but was scratched right before game time.

Aramis Ramirez started at third base after missing five straight games before a pinch-hitting appearance on Sunday. Ramirez was dealing with a sore right quadriceps.
