Both players had two at-bats Thursday for the Triple-A Iowa Cubs before rain suspended the game. Both are expected to play Friday night when Iowa resumes the suspended game and then plays a seven-inning game.
"Let's see how [Johnson] comes out of it tonight," Cubs manager Mike Quade said. "Maybe an off-day Sunday or Saturday, then come and join us on Monday, both he and Baker. That's what I'm looking at."
Johnson went on the DL retroactive to May 26 with back spasms. Baker strained his left groin and was put on the DL on May 29.

Rehabbing Chicago Cubs veterans Reed Johnson and Jeff Baker are expected to return to the team on Monday.
