The series' biggest crowd came Saturday, when 42,236 packed the ballpark. Sunday's attendance was 41,828 and Friday's was 42,219.
With the 2011 Cubs struggling on the field, their average paid attendance is 35,726, down over 2,000 per game from last season. However, with the Yankees on the North Side for the first time since 2003, this weekend's series was a hot ticket.
The Cubs' attendance has surpassed three million in each of the past seven seasons. But even with this weekend's record numbers, their current average attendance puts them on track to fall just short of that mark.
