Agent: Lee decision could be near
David Lee's choices likely narrowed on Wednesday.
Lee's agent said he spoke with the Bulls on Wednesday morning.
"I'm sure we'll talk to [the Bulls] later [Wednesday]," said Lee's agent, Mark Bartelstein. "A lot of people are pursuing him, no question. We hope to make a decision by the end of the day."
With Amare Stoudemire choosing the Knicks, Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade teaming up in Miami and LeBron James set to announce his decision on Thursday night during an ESPN special, the focus has shifted to the next tier of free agents.
That list includes Boozer and Lee, a first-time All-Star last season who averaged 20.2 points and 11.7 rebounds with the Knicks. The 6-foot-9, 250-pound Lee interested several teams including the Bulls, New Jersey Nets, Minnesota Timberwolves, Golden State Warriors and Phoenix Suns.
Bartelstein said the lines of communication have been open between him and Nets president and general manager Rod Thorn about Lee.
"If he is available when the Nets know where they stand with LeBron, we'll be happy to talk to them," Bartelstein said. "They've got a lot of great things going on in the organization and, you know, David loves New York and the area, but I don't know if David will still be there when they have an answer."
