In a move that was hardly unexpected, the Chicago Bulls officially sent guard Kirk Hinrich to the Washington Wizards on Wednesday in a salary cap-clearing trade that was agreed to in principal on draft night.
The deal also included the Bulls sending the draft rights to forward Kevin Seraphin and cash considerations to Washington in exchange to the draft rights to forward Vladimir Veremeenko.
Hinrich was the seventh overall pick in the 2003 draft. He spent seven seasons in Chicago and was team captain for four seasons. He averaged 13.4 points and 5.8 assists per game during his tenure with the Bulls.
The 6-foot-9-inch Seraphin was selected by the Bulls in the 2010 draft with the 17th overall pick. He played in France last season.
Veremeenko, a 6-foot-10 forward, was drafted by the Wizards in the second round in 2006. He played professionally in Russia this past season.
