The Chicago Bulls couldn't get past the Miami Heat in the playoffs this season, and the same can be said for their odds of winning a championship in 2012.

The Heat are the favorites to win a championship next season with 5-2 odds followed by the Los Angeles Lakers at 11-2 and the Bulls at 6-1, according to the online gambling site Bodog.

The Dallas Mavericks, who beat the Heat on Sunday to win their first NBA title, are fifth with 10-1 odds.

The Bulls added eight players and a new coaching staff last summer and went on to finish with the NBA's best record at 62-20 and home-court advantage throughout the playoffs. After getting past the Indiana Pacers and Atlanta Hawks, the Bulls dropped four straight games to the Heat to lose in the Eastern Conference finals.

Odds aside, Bulls general manager Gar Forman said he doesn't want to make any predictions.

"I said it before this season when we had eight new guys and a coaching staff, and my thinking would be the same: I don't want to put a ceiling on what our team can become," Forman said Monday on "The Waddle & Silvy Show" on ESPN 1000. "We do have some guys who obviously they were stung when the season ends suddenly, and it seems like it always does when you're in the playoffs. I think we've got some guys who are really motivated to come out next year and have another good year and then try to continue to get better."

The Las Vegas Hilton lists the Bulls with the second-best odds of winning a title next season at 6-1 odds, also behind the Heat at 2-1.
