Williams leaves with injured ankle
MINNEAPOLIS -- Illinois quarterback Juice Williams left the game against Minnesota with a left ankle injury.
Williams was injured in the first quarter on Saturday when he fumbled on a running play. He limped off the field.
Freshman Jacob Charest replaced Williams at quarterback on the Illini's next possession. He threw for 185 yards and a touchdown in Illinois' 35-32 win.
Williams threw a 22-yard touchdown pass to Jeff Cumberland on the team's opening possession before getting hurt. It's been a tough season for the senior, who finally had a good game last week in a victory over Michigan.
