Northwestern will have one more spot to fill for next year's recruiting class as 6-foot-2, 205-pound wide receiver Martin Bayless has been granted his release from the team, the school confirmed on Monday.

Bayless, the son of former NFL veteran Martin Bayless, redshirted his first year with the Wildcats and did not see any playing time last season. He was considered an above-average wide receiver out of high school in Texas -- ESPN Scouts Inc. graded him a 77 -- but he had offers from a number of major programs, including Florida and Ohio State.

Northwestern currently has 17 players committed for its 2010 class.
