CHICAGO -- Illinois football coach Ron Zook couldn't fully express Tuesday the relief he had in knowing the next time he'll be at Wrigley Field it will be to play Northwestern and not to sing.
Zook led Wrigley Field in the singing of Take Me Out to the Ballgame on Monday night, and he hated it just as much as he did the two previous times.
"I don't know what I'm thinking when I say I'll do it," he said. "I'm not thinking obviously. I don't play golf, but I had a better chance of going off the tee box. I might hit a good shot. I have absolutely no chance at singing good.
"It's scary. It's the scariest thing I've ever done."
The Cubs' 18-1 loss didn't help the night either.
"I don't know which was worse," Zook said. "Probably me."
