Zambrano ejected after bumping umpire
Morgan scored on a close play, and Zambrano immediately began arguing. After the two made contact, Zambrano was ejected. The pitcher then pointed in Carlson's face and gave him the ejection sign.
Zambrano continued to argue and threw a ball into the left field. As he went to the dugout he picked up a bat and began to smash the Gatorade dispenser while pitching coach Larry Rothschild tried to control the pitcher.
Zambrano likely faces a suspension, if not for the bump with Carlson, then possibly for his actions after being ejected.
It was Zambrano's second start after coming off the disabled list with a strained hamstring.
It was the second time in three days that a Cubs player took frustration out on the new dispenser. Ryan Dempster smashed into the new dugout feature Monday.Information from The Associated Press was used in this report.
