White Sox option Fields to Triple-A

Turns out hitting a grand slam in Mark Buehrle's perfect game on Thursday and helping Buehrle deliver David Letterman's Top Ten list on Monday couldn't keep Josh Fields in the big leagues.

The Chicago White Sox optioned Fields to Triple-A Charlotte to make room for Mark Kotsay, who the Sox acquired from the Boston Red Sox in a trade on Tuesday. Kotsay is expected to join the team in time for tonight's game against the Minnesota Twins.

Fields is hitting .220 with seven home runs and 30 RBIs in 71 games.
