White Sox third baseman Gordon Beckham was named the American League's Rookie of the Month for July on Tuesday, Major League Baseball announced.

Beckham led all AL rookies with a .330 batting average, 32 hits, three home runs, 18 RBIs, 10 doubles and a .526 slugging percentage. He also collected at least one RBI in 17 of 27 games played during the month.

Beckham compiled a career-long seven-game hitting streak from July 24-30 and batted .458 with two home runs, two doubles, six RBIs and three runs scored during that span.

Beckham, who has played in 52 games since his promotion to the major leagues on June 4, leads all AL rookies in batting average (.311), RBIs (36), slugging percentage (.486) and on-base percentage (.374). He is also tied for first with 17 doubles and ranks second with 18 multi-hit games and 22 extra-base hits.
