Chicago White Sox pitching coach Don Cooper said on Thursday that Jake Peavy will be in Chicago on Saturday to throw a side session. After that, the plan is for Peavy to have three minor league starts before he is brought back to the major leagues.

The Sox are looking at the possibility of Peavy pitching in the minors on Aug. 13, Aug. 18 and Aug. 23, with a projected major league start on Aug. 28, Sept. 2 or Sept. 3. The Sox and Chicago Cubs have a make-up game on Sept. 3.

The White Sox acquired Peavy from the San Diego Padres on July 31 for four young pitchers.

Peavy has been on the disabled list since June 13 with a strained tendon in his right ankle.
