Chicago Cubs manager Lou Piniella suggested on Monday night that he will replace Kevin Gregg as the closer after another blown save.

Gregg yielded four runs in the ninth inning -- including three on a home run by Kyle Banks -- to cap a 4-1 loss to the San Diego Padres. He's given up 12 home runs, the most of any closer in the majors. It was Gregg's sixth blown save.

"I think we're going to make some changes as far as what we're going to do in late innings," Piniella said after the game. "[The tough losses] all end the same way -- with a home run ball. We'll see what we'll do. I'm going to think about it tonight.

The likely candidates to close are Carlos Marmol and Angel Guzman.

The Cubs fell six games behind the St. Louis Cardinals.
