Chicago Cubs infielder Jeff Baker was sent to Northwestern Hospital for X-rays on his right pinkie finger, and the results came back negative.
Baker said he would like to play on Sunday.
"It blew up and got purple right away," Baker said. "I was worried about it.
"Thankfully, the X-rays were negative. I'll ice it all night and get some treatment from our trainers and try to get out there as soon as possible."
Baker took a ball off of his hand during batting practice and was scratched from Saturday's lineup, in which he was penciled in to play third base.
