Illinois coach Ron Zook announced during his news conference on Tuesday that he has suspended sophomore running back Mikel LeShoure and redshirt freshman defensive back Ashante Williams due to a violation of team rules.

Both will miss Saturday's game against Illinois State.

"It's disappointing," said Zook, who would not go into details about the violations.

LeShoure scored the team's lone touchdown, rushed for 38 yards and caught three passes for 46 yards in a 37-9 loss to Missouri on Saturday. He missed the final three games of his freshman season after his jaw was broken by a teammate in an off-the-field altercation.

Williams, a Proviso East graduate, did see the field Saturday, but had no statistics.
