Mike DiNunno and Michael Fakuade will not be returning to the Northern Illinois men's basketball team, a team spokesperson confirmed on Monday.

According to the spokesperson, both players had the option of returning, but chose to leave.

DiNunno, a 5-foot-11 sophomore point guard, started 21 games and averaged 7.0 points, 1.6 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.0 steals last season.

Fakuade, a 6-7 sophomore center, started 15 games and averaged 3.5 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.0 blocks this past season.

Both players are graduates of Von Steuben High School in Chicago.

Next season's Northern Illinois team will look much different than its 2009-2010 squad. The program also announced in late March that junior starting guard Jake Anderson would not be returning to the team next season, and leading scorer Xavier Silas, another junior guard, said Saturday he would be testing the NBA Draft waters, but not hiring an agent.
