Loyola added senior guard Denzel Brito to its 2010 recruiting class on Monday.

Brito, a 6-foot-1 guard, averaged 16.0 points, 4.3 rebounds and 4.1 assists for Lawrence Academy in Groton, Mass., this past season. Lawrence Academy went 29-0 and won the Class C New England Championship.

"Denzel comes from a winning program and we were impressed by his exceptional athleticism and versatility," Loyola coach Jim Whitesell said in a statement. "In addition to being a force on the basketball court, he was also a standout football player and brings that added toughness as a two-sport athlete. Along with Gabe Kindred [Worcester Academy], he gives us another guard from the prep leagues in Massachusetts and those two players can complement each other at both guard slots."

Brito joins Wisconsin Lutheran swingman Flavien Davis and Mount Carmel forward John Gac in Loyola's 2010 recruiting class.
