De La Salle senior forward Mike Shaw announced on his Twitter account Monday night that he will make his college commitment at a news conference on Thursday.

Shaw is ranked 69th overall and the No. 8 power forward in the Class of 2011 by ESPN recruiting. He is expected to choose between DePaul, Illinois and Marquette.

The 6-foot-8 Shaw was an ESPNChicago.com All-Area selection last season. He averaged 14 points, nine rebounds, three assists, two steals and two blocks for De La Salle.

"He played against some big-time talent and proved he belongs with them," De La Salle coach Tom White said last season "He's able to take the ball to the basket. The thing is he can take them on the perimeter. He can create on his own with his length. ... He's a Chicago legend as a junior in high school a little bit. 'Michael Shaw, Michael Shaw.' Everybody's on him."
