LAKE FOREST, Ill. -- Another former Chicago Bears player is headed to the New Orleans Saints.

Fullback Jason McKie, released by the organization on March 16, will sign a free agent contract with the defending Super Bowl champions, according to a source familiar with the situation.

The move reunites McKie with former teammate Alex Brown, who signed a two-year deal with the Saints in April.

McKie spent seven seasons in Chicago, starting 46 regular season games and helping pave the way for a pair of 1,000 yard rushers (Thomas Jones and Matt Forte). The eight-year NFL veteran caught a career-high 25 passes in 2006.

Jeff Dickerson covers the Bears for ESPNChicago.com and ESPN 1000.
