Back keeps Bears' Harris out again
Mike & Mike in the Morning
Chicago Bears LB Lance Briggs says the defense is ready to get back to applying pressure on the offense. The team knows they'll have doubters, but they're ready.
Harris left Saturday morning's walk-through after planting his foot and straining his back. He missed the Bears' first workout in pads on Saturday night and will skip Sunday's session.
"I'm getting treatment three times a day, as much as I possibly can so I can get back on the field as quick as possible," Harris said on Sunday. "I'm still nursing this back. I wouldn't say it's a serious back injury or anything, but [I'm] just taking it slow, taking it careful. I don't want to come back too fast."
Harris, who was re-acquired by Chicago from the Carolina Panthers in the offseason, is anxious to get back but doesn't believe the time away will affect his re-acclimation to the Bears.
"I won't be behind the eight ball as far as the learning curve, but I don't want to miss time," Harris said. "I actually like being out there with the guys, competing and stuff."
