LAKE FOREST, Ill. -- Bears coach Lovie Smith officially ruled out left tackle Chris Williams (hamstring) and safety Major Wright (hamstring) for Monday night's showdown with the Green Bay Packers.

The duo remained sidelined with injuries Saturday as the Bears conducted a two-hour walk-through in preparation for Monday night. In other injury news, linebacker Lance Briggs returned to work at full capacity after resting a sore ankle on Thursday and taking part Friday on a limited basis.

With Williams out, Frank Omiyale will take over as the starting left tackle. Smith expressed confidence earlier in the week about Omiyale's capabilities as a fill in.

Wright, meanwhile, should be out indefinitely. In fact, a month would be an optimistic prognosis for the rookie safety, who severely strained a hamstring in the club's win over the Cowboys.

The Bears also listed defensive end Israel Idonije (foot) and Brian Iwuh (quadriceps) on the injury report earlier this week, but the two are probable for Monday night's contest.
