LAKE FOREST, Ill. -- Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler said he has not been asked by the front office for his opinion on Randy Moss, and believes picking up their offense midseason would be a lot to ask of any receiver.

"I think it would be hard for anybody to come into a situation with our offense and learn it, but he's a very talented guy," Cutler said Wednesday. "That's for those guys upstairs."

Bears offensive coordinator Mike Martz didn't have much more to add when asked about Moss.

"Here is how dumb I am, and I don't mean this with any disrespect, but I kind of hide in a cave during the season. I don't look at the Internet. I couldn't tell you anything that is written in the newspaper. I didn't even know that it happened [Moss was waived] until recently, so I was totally unaware of it.

"I can't comment on that. I would never comment on another player that isn't on our squad. But I appreciate the question, understand it, but it wouldn't be right for me to comment on it."

Teams will have until 4 p.m. ET on Wednesday to place a claim on Moss, who was waived by the Minnesota Vikings on Tuesday. The team with the worst record will win the claim. The Bears are 17th in the waiver order.

Asked whether he would volunteer his opinion on Moss to the Bears front office, Cutler said: "Maybe if we were upstairs and they asked me. I don't think they will. It's tough right now. We've got to get ready for Buffalo. We've got enough to worry about."

The Bears come off their bye week with a trip to Toronto to play the winless Buffalo Bills on Sunday. After dropping two straight games and three of their past four, the Bears need to focus on the little things as they begin the second half of the season.

"I think everyone just needs to keep believing in the system and just get the details right," Cutler said. "Just being more consistent. There's those flashes on film of doing everything right and things going accordingly and then there's other things where there's just one little breakdown. This offense maybe more than others is going to take all 11 guys to be on the same page doing what they are supposed to do."
