Julius Peppers' injury 'nothing serious'
TORONTO -- Despite being forced to exit the Bears' 22-19 victory over Buffalo late in the fourth quarter, defensive end Julius Peppers isn't believed to be seriously hurt, according to head coach Lovie Smith.
"He's going to be OK," Smith said on Monday, echoing his prognosis from the day before. "Especially after you go back and watch the video, it looked a lot worse than it ended up being. It's going to take an awful lot to knock him down. But he's fine, good to go."
Peppers appeared to slam his head and left shoulder on the turf while attempting to tackle Buffalo quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick in the end zone. The defensive end stayed on the ground for a few minutes before walking off the field and promptly taking a seat on the Bears' bench.
In the postgame locker room, Peppers said he felt fine.
