Chicago Bears coach Lovie Smith said Monday that he hasn't had time to follow the drama surrounding Minnesota Vikings coach Brad Childress, who brings his squad to Soldier Field on Sunday.

Childress said Sunday -- after a come-from-behind 27-24 win over the Arizona Cardinals -- that he's received no assurances from owner Zygi Wilf that he'll finish the season as Vikings coach. Childress reportedly had a run-in with Percy Harvin last week and is perceived to have an icy relationship with Brett Favre.

But Smith, who's encountered speculation about his own job security, said the focus is on his team and its matchup with an NFC North division rival.

"I don't have time to follow drama," Smith said. "We have work we're trying to get taken care of here with the Bears. I don't read what you guys write, so I'm definitely not going to read what they're talking about somebody else."
