HOLLYWOOD, Fla. -- Chicago Bears starting strongside linebacker Pisa Tinoisamoa has been ruled out of Thursday night's game against the Miami Dolphins because of a knee injury.

Tinoisamoa had limited participation at practice on Tuesday.

The veteran linebacker started all nine games for the Bears this season, and he was playing well after an injury-plagued 2009. Tinoisamoa is sixth on the team with 46 tackles, and he has one sack, one forced fumble and four tackles for a loss.

Fourth-year linebacker Nick Roach will replace Tinoisamoa in the starting lineup.

Roach started 24 games the past two seasons at strong and middle linebacker, but suffered a knee injury in training camp and subsequently lost the starting job to Tinoisamoa. Roach tied for the team lead with 10 tackles for a loss last year and was fourth with 82 tackles.

Johnny Knox (ankle), Zack Bowman (foot), Devin Hester (shoulder) and Rashied Davis (quad) are all probable.

Jeff Dickerson covers the Bears for ESPNChicago.com and ESPN 1000.
