LAKE FOREST, Ill. -- Chicago Bears linebackers Pisa Tinoisamoa and Nick Roach, along with running back Chester Taylor, sat out practice Wednesday as the team prepares to face the New England Patriots on Sunday afternoon at Soldier Field.

Tinoisamoa underwent a minor scope on his right knee to try and alleviate lingering discomfort, leaving the veteran's status for this weekend in doubt. The Bears' starting strongside linebacker has missed two of the last three games because of the knee problem.

His replacement, Roach, strained a muscle in the hip/back region in the first half of the Bears' 24-20 victory over the Detroit Lions. The injury, however, isn't believed to be serious, and Roach is hoping to play against the Patriots.

Taylor, who had 14 touches for 64 yards and a touchdown versus the Lions, sat out with a knee injury.
