Police: Garrett Wolfe in bar dispute

The Sunday arrest of former Chicago Bears running back Garrett Wolfe had to do with an unpaid bar bill, according to police documents obtained by multiple media outlets.

Wolfe allegedly disputed a bill totaling $1,572 that included three bottles of champagne at Cameo Nightclub in Miami Beach, according to police. He became aggressive and was kicked out of the bar.

Police initially restrained the former Holy Cross and Northern Illinois star but then released him to pay the bill. But before that could happen he ended up in a scuffle with an off-duty police officer, according to reports, was handcuffed and was arrested. He was charged with retail theft, disorderly conduct, assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest with violence. Wolfe posted a $11,500 bond and was released.

Wolfe played all 16 games in 2010, carrying the ball four times for eight yards. Wolfe finished his Bears career with 72 career rushes for 282 yards and a touchdown, in addition to six kickoff returns for 125 yards.

Wolfe tied Brian Iwuh for second on the team last season in special-teams tackles (18).
