ROSEMONT, Ill. -- Chris Chelios broke a 1-1 tie with 4:07 remaining in the third period to propel the Chicago Wolves to a 3-1 victory over the Rockford IceHogs Sunday at Allstate Arena.

The win marked Chicago's fourth consecutive home game earning at least a point (3-0-0-1), and the third straight defeat of Rockford on Allstate Arena ice this season.

"We got in penalty trouble tonight, but fortunately our penalty kill has been superb," Wolves coach Don Lever said. "Our power play finally started working, and we had that wily veteran out there who decided to finish it off for us."

With the Wolves working on the power play, Chelios corralled a pass from right wing Tim Stapleton in the right face-off circle and cranked a shot through Rockford goaltender Joe Fallon, snagging the win for Chicago with his first American Hockey League goal.

Defenseman Arturs Kulda added an empty net tally with 14 seconds left to play to round out the scoring, 3-1.

Drew MacIntyre (2-4-0) posted 22 saves for Chicago.
